Mark rolled off me and gazed at the ceiling and suddenly out of nowhere began to laugh. I turned to look at him and then as if it was contagious began to laugh too. We did it for a good minute until we died down.
‘I’ve never done this in my life.’ He turned onto one elbow.
‘Me neither,’ I said.
‘Should we start from the beginning?’ he asked. I couldn’t take my eyes of his gorgeous blue eyes. ‘I’m Mark Hirst,’ he proffered his hand.
I burst out laughing again.
‘And you’re Ms Jacobs.’ He laughed and his eyes lit up. I felt swallowed in by them.
‘It’s Hazel.’ I pulled the cover from the side to cover up suddenly feeling exposed.
‘Don’t be so shy, beautiful Hazel.’ He smiled then moved forward to give me a kiss.
‘This is odd,’ I said.
‘I know but I like odd.’ He sat up then looked at his watch. ‘I’m going to have to love and leave you, I have an appointment at half three.’
‘Shit what’s the time?’
‘Quarter to three.’
I shot up and began to pull clothes from my wardrobe. The jeans I had on in the morning and the top.
‘What the hell was I thinking?’ I said suddenly. ‘This was a mistake.’ I felt stupid, why had I just fallen into bed with a stranger, a man I hardly knew?
‘Is it?’ He stood up, his limp cock right under my nose.
‘Yes and please put some clothes on!’ I turned away embarrassed.
‘Yes ma’am.’ He smiled, it seemed as though nothing freaked him out. He stood for a moment and gazed at me amused.
‘What?’
‘You take life too seriously.’
‘And you don’t what do you even know about me?’ I felt hot.
‘I guess nothing.’
‘Exactly, now please go and put some clothes on, I have to leave to pick up my son.’
He walked past me but then hesitated and stopped. He put both hands on my shoulders and made me focus on him.
‘Loosen up Ms Jacobs.’ He laughed lightly. ‘Have a little fun, you might find you quite like it.’
I had to admit that I did but not to him.
‘I shall see you soon.’ He planted a kiss on my forehead and began to walk downstairs to get his clothes and his tools.
‘What does that mean?’
‘It’s a mystery, that’s the fun part.’
‘I..I...’ I was lost for words, I didn’t know what I wanted to say so instead I watched as he squeezed himself into his clothes. It was hard not to want to touch him again.
After he was done he walked to the door, I followed behind him to head for my car.
‘See yeah!’ He winked before disappearing into his van.
I watched until he disappeared only hoping that maybe just maybe I would see him again. But if not, well it was just one of those things that don’t happen twice in a life time.
Chapter Two
‘I’m so sorry I’m late Grace, thanks for keeping him a little longer.’ I said to his teacher and friend.
‘You’re lucky I’m your friend. It’s not like you to be late, what happened?’
I pursed my lips together and looked over at Lloyd who was playing with some building blocks.
‘Oh my god! You have that look.’
‘What look?’
‘The look.’
‘I don’t know what you’re talking about, come on Lloyd lets go.’
‘I’ll call you and you can tell me all about it. Something has definitely happened to you.’
‘How can you tell?’
‘Ah, so there is something you’re dying to tell me. I’ll call you at eight o’clock.’
I was about to open my mouth to protest but it was pointless, Grace was a strong willed woman who would push until she got what she wanted.
We walked out to the car, Lloyd holding my hand. I helped buckle him up even though I knew he was capable of doing it himself, my seven year old was no seven year old. Sometimes I wondered if he’d swapped minds with a twelve year old.
‘Why are you buckling me up?’
‘Mummy wasn’t thinking.’ I walked over to get into the drivers seat.
‘Mummy?’
‘Yes?’
‘Why are you so happy today?’
‘I’m always happy pumpkin.’
‘No you’re not, sometimes you’re an angry lion.’ He began to roar.
‘Hmm that’s a way to phrase it little man.’
‘But today you’re happy happy.’ He kicked the back of my seat, something that really annoyed me.
‘Could you stop that please!’
The funny thing was Lloyd wouldn’t sit on the other side of the car, not without a struggle that always ended up with us both upset that it wasn’t even worth it. Stubbornness runs in our blood!
‘No, tell me why you’re so happy?’
‘Because it’s a lovely day, that’s why.’
‘No that’s not it.’ Kick! Kick!
‘Lloyd!’
‘Is it because you’ve met a man?’
I almost went crushing into the stop sign.
‘Whatever gave you that idea?’
‘Well...’ he began to tell me one of his many theories. ‘Girls at school giggle funny all the time in the presence of a boy they like.’
You see, was he really seven or just impersonating one? At times my own genius son outsmarted me.
‘I’m not a school girl young man!’ A smile curled on my lips, I was indeed giddy like a little girl. It never goes away does it, the butterflies start at such a young age.
‘Oh mummy don’t lie, you know it’s not good to lie.’ Kick, kick, kick!
‘Mummies don’t lie.’
‘Well mine does.’ Kick kick.
‘Lloyd I’m only going to ask you one more time to stop kicking mummy’s seat.’
‘And then what?’
Yep and then what? I don’t know what but isn’t that what you’re supposed to say and hope they’d stop it. Not my kido.
‘And then what?’
I was defeated as we turned onto the drive.
****
The early evening was its usual struggle, a struggle to get Lloyd into the shower, then a struggle to get him out. A struggle to get him to eat his peas and then a struggle to get him to bed. How could one little boy be such a big task? But through it all there was always a smile on my face. I had patience, it must have been the sex, it had exorcised all the angry demons that had been residing in me. As I leaned down to give him a kiss goodnight he looked up at me with his big brown eyes. He was a sweet lad with big curls that sometimes people mistook him for a girl.
‘What is it honey?’
‘Are you ever going to tell me the truth? About the man.’
‘Oh stop it.’ I moved away.
‘Why didn’t you put those clothes in the wash, the ones that were on the floor in the kitchen when we got home?’
With that I switched off his light, ‘Good night Lloyd.’
It wasn’t even eight when my phone rang.
‘Oh my god, were you counting the ticks?’
‘You bet, it’s been a while since I’ve seen you this happy.’
‘Funny you should say that, Lloyds been bugging me about it all evening. He keeps saying I’m happy. Have I been so grumpy I’ve never noticed it?’
‘You could say that?’
‘Seriously?’
‘Nope but you do seem different.’
‘Really?’
‘Yep so tell me what happened today?’
I was dying to tell her, it was the strangest day in my life. And yet the most confusing and perhaps embarrassing. I’d never done such a thing in my life.
‘You’re kidding?’ Grace said after I’d finished the story.
‘True.’
‘Wow and to think that happened in the movies. You dirty girl you!’
‘I know, you’d think at forty I’d know better.

‘So how good looking is he?’
‘Oh my god, how can I put this?’ I tried to explain his height, his jet black hair, his deep blue eyes and a body to die for. ‘He looks like a poster boy for some high fashion magazine.’
‘Oh my god!’ she heaved down the phone. ‘You saucy minx you!’
I blushed and felt hot just thinking about that afternoon.
‘Who knew a phone call would bring this man to me and to think there was nothing wrong with my machine.’
‘Karma, it was meant to be.’
‘Oh please, not that nonsense.’
Grace was a deep believer that good things happen to those that wait, that didn’t go out looking for it.
‘He came at the right time.’
‘Yeah but where is he now? I know nothing about him, just his name and that’s it. He could be married for all I know, he could be doing the whole county.’
Grace laughed.
‘What so funny?’
‘You, you’re so serious all the time. Why don’t you just enjoy the fact you had hot sex and enjoyed it? If something comes out of it then great if not then great too.’
I sighed, if only I was that enlightened. In my heart of hearts I just wanted to see the handsome hunk again; his cheeky smile and his to die for eyes.
‘Perhaps,’ I said not convinced.
‘Anyway I better get off, early start tomorrow.’
‘Yeah me too, I’ve got three articles to post tonight.’ I hadn’t done any work today which was bad news. I earned as I worked as a freelance writer. This was the joy of singlehood, my life was poured into my work when Lloyd was at school.
‘Let me know if anything happens. Keep me posted.’
‘You’ll be the first to know.’ I giggled.
Chapter Three
I’d tossed and turned the whole night. It had been hard to concentrate on any work and it was even harder to get any shut eye. Mark was printed on each and every brain cells and the more I relived that day the more it felt for him, I could hardly sleep.
I rushed Lloyd off to school to cram a few hours of work before he got back again. It was difficult, words failed me; only images of Mark kept me daydreaming in front of my laptop. At eleven I made myself some soup, at half past I nibbled on grapes and still the words were far and few between.
Dam you Mark! How could he do this to me? How could he weaken me so much?
There was a loud knock at the front door. I checked the time it was twelve twenty. My heart thudded and my stomach did a somersault. It was him wasn’t it, I just knew it. Who else could it be? I could be wrong; it could be the postman with a package. But then again I wasn’t expecting a delivery. The knock came a second time. This time I got up from my home office desk, smoothed down my skirt and headed downstairs.
I was right, standing with a naughty smile on his face was Mr Mark Hirst, boy I wanted to melt. He wore black jeans and a tight black t-shirt. There was still the stubble across his face and the eyes, man those bloody eyes! He didn’t say a word as he captured me into his arms and walked into the house as if he owned it. He put me down just in the passage, took off my glasses – I hadn’t realised I’d kept them own – put them to one side where the phone sat and began to kiss me. It was passionate, his hands were strong against my face as he brought me into his face. We kissed for an extremely long time before I pulled back.
‘What are you doing...doing here?’ I breathed.
‘I’m on lunch coming to have a taste of you.’ He moved forward and captured me into his arms. I did not fight him; instead I weakened into the strong arms. What was happening to me? The fight in me, the independence had suddenly disappeared. I wanted him, I wanted him to do bad things to me and I didn’t want to stop him one bit. He lifted me and walked into the living room slowly putting me down on the carpet. I giggled.
‘What’s so funny,’ he asked towering over me with his cute smile.
‘This, this is funny, what am I doing?’
‘Making love to me.’ He kissed my forehead.
‘Really, you call this making love?’ This was a joke and yet I didn’t stop it.
‘I do.’ He kissed down from my forehead to my cheek across to my ear. ‘I do,’ he whispered then took my earlobe by the tip of his teeth.
His hands caressed my breasts and I lay helplessly taken, not knowing where to put my hands. He moved up again and stared down at me then kissed my lips. This time my hands found their way to his black locks that I loved so much. He was gentle and yet he took me in such away that there was no fighting him. He lifted my top and caressed my breasts, I closed my eyes to the ceiling above and took in the sensation of his mouth and his hands on my body. My body tingled and my clit pumped and swelled as I felt him go for the zip to my skirt.
‘Let me help you with that.’ I wiggled out of the skirt.
‘Nice very nice.’ He moved down towards my pelvis and began to kiss over my panties.
‘Oh my god!’ I let out as he slowly lowered my knickers. I was such a whore! I giggled again at the thought.
‘Enjoying this I presume?’
‘Indeed.’ I giggled again.
‘Good.’ He tossed my panties aside and widened me. ‘Yummy.’ He placed a finger between my pussy lips and began to run up and down it not taking his eyes off me.
‘Hi,’ he smiled.
‘Hi,’ I said shyly back.
‘You are super cute.’ He stopped his finger right in the middle, not entering the hole but teasing it gently.
‘I think you’re super cute too.’ I smiled.
‘Good, then we must talk about it.’ He pushed his finger into me, just the tip.
‘Ahahah...about what?’ I wiggled closing my eyes then opening them again.
‘About this, about my finger in your juicy bits, and my lips on yours, he kissed me and my hand on your breast.’ He pushed his finger a little deeper and again I squirmed.
‘O...okay.’
‘Okay?’
‘Yes, okay.’
He laughed then pulled out his finger and put it into his mouth.
‘Hmmmm.’ He kept his eyes on me. ‘Talk about the best lunch time break ever.’
For a moment he began to strip down and I watched as he revealed his sexiness to me.
‘Have you recently been abroad?’ I asked eying his magnificent tan.
‘Spain, with my mates a week ago, it had been years since being abroad.’ He was over me his cock dangling above me ready to enter. ‘Do you like?’ he asked noticing my eyes on his thick wand.
I smiled.
‘Ah you like.’ He wiggled over me. ‘I’m sorry if I have to be quick but we must talk soon.’ He suddenly pushed in his thickness, it caught me by surprise.
I grasped onto his broad shoulders as he began to plough into my wetness. I closed my eyes, panting and squeezing on for dear life. He lifted my left leg then thought better of it and lifted both my legs to his shoulders.
‘Oh my god!’ I pressed into the carpet, my hands grasped onto the clothes that lay near by as he pumped into me. He kept his eyes on me, smiling only slightly, watching as I weakened under his charm, under his sexy body. He lifted my top with his one hand and pressed hard against my perky breasts not slowing down the pace. Faster and faster he moved, expertly he twisted his hips, moving back and then twirling forward.
‘Oh yes, yes, yes!’
‘I love that voice baby, yes, yes.’ He breathed heavily and this time began to push heavily into me. I watched, panting as his temples tensed and finally his eyes closed and he began to let go. That did it for me, it didn’t take much for me to come soon after.
‘Thank you Ms Jacobs.’ He rolled off me.
‘This is nuts.’ I had to laugh, what else was I to do? ‘But I enjoyed every moment of it!’
‘I am glad.’ He moved across and kissed me on the forehead.
We only lay there for a few minutes when Mark got up and began to pull on his jeans and top.
> ‘About that talk,’ he said.
‘Yes, what about it?’
‘I want to do it soon.’
‘Okay.’ I began to pull on my skirt.
‘Do you like flowers?’
I laughed.
‘So do you like flowers?’
‘What girl doesn’t like flowers?’
‘I’m sure you could find a lady that doesn’t like flowers.’
‘Maybe but to answer your question yes I do.’
‘Great! What are your favourite flowers?’
I had to think, I loved roses but I also loved oriental lilies.
‘I love lots of different flowers but I guess my favourite would be oriental lilies.’
‘Nice choice babe.’ He tightened his belt.
He was a bit vague about things and I wondered whether it was just the way he was or he was playing games with me. I eyed him curiously offering nothing back.
‘So?’ He crouched down to look at me, again those eyes made me melt. ‘I’ll see you tomorrow same time.’ He got up without giving me a chance to answer him. ‘Oh and by the way.’ He stood at the living room door about to leave. ‘Dress warm.’ He walked out without another word.
‘Okay,’ I said to myself but not without a smile on my face.

‘He’s a mysterious one isn’t he?’ Grace said over the phone after I’d sorted Lloyd out. It was the usual routine of catch up on the latest about the man.
Grace had been my friend since we met at university many years ago, I won’t go into the details of how many years ago, I’ve lost track of how long ago that was. Anyway I was studying journalism and Grace was studying early years education. We actually met in the library one afternoon while we were both doing research. We kind of hit it off from there and never stopped being friends. While I got married and had Lloyd and then got divorced, Grace had a long term partner. She’d been waiting for him to pop the question for ten years but it’s never happened. At first it seemed to bug her but now she’s just getting on with her life and living off the thrill of my life at the moment. Which I don’t mind at all.
‘Yep you can say that again.’ I took a sip of my hot chocolate. I felt relaxed and on top of the world. The sex was doing me a lot of good.
